The embargo period is from the date the Library receives your thesis, and not the date you complete your thesis.

Usually, the time lapse between thesis submission and receipt of your thesis at the Library is six months to a year. Coupled with the maximum two-year embargo, the total time between submission and posting of your thesis to the HKBU Institutional Repository (between three to four years) is sufficient for publishers who are considering parts of your thesis for publication.

If you have a patent associated with the thesis, this would be an exception.

For more information on how the process for publishing your MPhil/PhD thesis works, please refer to the Library's guide on Publishing your Thesis @ HKBU.
