Yes, there are ways you can download an e-book if the particular e-book platform allows it.
A number of e-book platforms allow either partial or full-title downloads of their e-books.
Partial downloads allow viewers to download a section of the e-book, usually in Portable Document Format (PDF).
Full title downloads allow downloads of the entire text, which can be accessed from a mobile device for a limited period of time (anywhere from one to several days). This type of download usually requires the user to register for a (free) account on that platform as well as an account with a separate viewing software such as Adobe Digital Editions (ADE).
